Defenses for Sex Crimes in Michigan

sex crimes attorney Michigan

If you’re facing a sex crime charge, bringing a solid defense is key, and having a trusted
sex crimes attorney in Michigan on your side is an important first step in the process. In order to obtain a conviction for the alleged crime, the state must prove specific elements. For example, in a rape case, they must prove that the act happened, that the accuser didn’t consent, and that the accused used force or the threat of force to complete the act – each of which can prove challenging.

While your defense strategy will be specific to your case, some common defense categories include:

      You’ve been falsely accused.

The act happened between consenting adults.

It’s a matter of mistaken identity.

      The state’s evidence is weak.

      Your constitutional rights were violated.
